Views at Heatherbank and Ardnamurchan
Heatherbank is surrounded by spectacular scenery which changes with the seasons. In any direction from the house the hills are breath-taking whether white with snow or purple with heather.
Just five minutes from the house on the Pollach road climb the fairy steps to a viewpoint with seating where you can stop and admire the fantastic views. The steps are made of mica so they sparkle as you climb.
Just a few miles outside Fort William you can visit Neptune’s Staircase and walk up the banks of the canal.
Travel down to Oban for the day and stop at Castle Stalker en route. You can walk down to the shore and photograph the castle and then stop at the café for coffee or lunch.
In the opposite direction travel to Mallaig and take the ferry “over the sea to Skye”.
Or go out on the Lochaline road and catch the ferry to Mull, spend the day touring the island – and the distillery – and be back in time for dinner at a bar or restaurant in Strontian.
Whichever direction you take you can’t fail to be impressed at the amazing surroundings.
